About

Hello and welcome to This Darling Adventure! It is a pleasure to meet you.

My name is Laura, a lifelong learner who cares deeply about living well – thoughtfully, faithfully, and with attention to beauty. I grew up in Southern California and now call Alberta, Canada home with my beloved husband Andy, where morning runs, shared meals, and quiet rhythms shape my days.

This space exists as a place of nourishment for minds, bodies, hearts, and lives. I write about the things that form us: the inner life and the slow work of becoming, hospitality and gathering around the table, creating beauty and welcome in our homes, tending to our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, nurturing relationships and caring for our communities, and embracing beauty and adventure both near and far. Some posts are practical, some reflective, some deeply personal — but all are written from a desire to live rooted in Christ and attentive to His goodness in both the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of our lives.

I don’t write as an expert with answers neatly tied up. I write from the messy middle – while learning, practicing, wondering, and growing. My hope is to create from a place of beloved-ness, offering words that are honest, grounded, and thoughtfully crafted. If something here encourages you to slow down, to notice beauty, to live more intentionally, or to trust God more deeply in your everyday life, then this space is doing what it was meant to do.

Life is rich and complex and worthy of careful attention. Every day holds the potential for meaning, connection, and adventure – often even closer than we think.

So make yourself at home, pour a cup of coffee and stay awhile. You’re welcome here.
