Aloha Friday & Much, Much More!

Good morning everyone! It is Friday at last and I hope that you are looking forward to an awesome weekend of adventures. Fridays have always been one of my favorite days of the week. It is more than just the end of a week of working. It is also the beginning of the weekend –  a time of rest, rejuvenation, and refreshment. When I lived in Hawaii, we used to call Fridays “Aloha Fridays.” This terminology actually originated in 1966 when businesses in Hawaii officially permitted their employees to wear an aloha shirt on Fridays. Since then, the concept of Aloha Friday has spread here to the mainland, and is commonly known as “casual Friday.” Nowadays in Hawaii, aloha shirts are everyday business wear, not just reserved for Fridays. But knowing it is Aloha Friday still gives Islanders at heart an extra boost of excitement for the weekend.*

That being said, I have some exciting news to share with you! Starting tomorrow I will be kicking off a more structured and finely-tuned blogging format. That may sound entirely boring, but I promise it is entirely not. So without further adieu, here is some of what is in the works:

Meaningful Mondays

Mondays we will talk about something to be mindful of as we go throughout our days. After all, one of the reasons why I write is to be able to plant in others a refreshing hope and a deep longing for living a meaningful life to its fullest. Part of that is encouraging you to be the best that you can be and to seek out a life of adventure, even in the seemingly mundane and everyday.

Travel Tip Tuesdays

Tuesdays we will highlight a useful travel tip. That is pretty self-explanatory. It should be pretty awesome though, and extremely practical.

Whatever Wednesdays

Wednesdays we will talk about… that’s right, you got it… WHATEVER! I like the idea of having some space to talk about whatever comes up. It could be traveling, creativity, beauty, but it could also be a fun recipe, random reflections, or a crazy contest. So you will just need to wait and see which “whatever” we will be chatting about each Wednesday as they come.

Throwback Thursdays

Thursdays I will share with you various “stories from the road.” My husband and I have travelled quite a bit and we are always excited to share stories of where we have been. I hope that by doing so we can also help to showcase places perhaps you had not considered traveling to before.

Featured Fridays

Fridays (because they are Fridays) are one of the days I am most excited about. To change things up even more, each Friday I want to give someone else the chance to shine by featuring them here on This Darling Adventure. They could be an awesome photographer, an amazing artist, an adventurous fellow-traveler, or an eclectic combination of everything and more. There are many others in this world who live their lives pursuing what they are passionate about, so on Fridays I will turn the floor over to them and allow them to share what makes them “tick.”

Saturday “Crafternoons”

Last, but certainly not least, on Saturdays we will craft. I read a blog recently that (in part) discussed carving out time to nourish the creative parts of our souls.** It is so important, and it will be a ton of fun. So Saturdays we will look at different DIY projects that are fun, practical, and easy (everyone say “Hallelujah!”).

Well, that is the low-down on what is to come starting TOMORROW! Once again, I am quite excited about this and I truly hope you are as well. So get ready. Set. Go! HAPPY ALOHA FRIDAY EVERYONE!
